My Eighties, Gallery Painting by Alan Drummond

“My Eighties” This brightly colored graphic painting with bold colors and heavy lines brings together some of my childhood influences. Making mix-tapes and listening to them on my Sony Walkman, playing arcade games like Pac-man or forever¬†fidgeting with a Rubik’s Cube. The background is made up by one of my all time favorite vinyl records, The Circus by Erasure. This piece is brought together with a Pop-Art style set of bold red lips in the foreground¬†by Graphic Artist Alan C Drummond.

“We need to talk about changing things, but no one wants to listen.”

My Eighties, Vector V Painting by Alan Drummond

After completing ‘My Eighties’ inspired painting I decided to see if I could recreate it in a vector. I did not scan the original picture or use auto-trace, its all redrawn from scratch.

Disclaimer: This piece is hand-painted on studio canvas / reclaimed wood / recycled materials, complete with a protective varnish and ready to hang. Intentional vintage wearing and blemishes are unique for each individual item and will not necessarily appear EXACTLY as it is in the picture.
